Christianity Today gives this PG film 4/4 stars...This is a beautiful film and a strikingly truthful one, and not because it waxes too philosophic or throws down the intellectual gauntlet. No, it is profound simply because, like a good poem, it takes us to the lake not so we can get to the other side, but that we might luxuriate in the sensation of the water. And in Bright Star, the water feels amazing.
