how to blurb...conversations.

from Lifehacker: "The ability to start a meaningful conversation is a unique and valuable skill to have. The good news is that anybody can learn and master this skill. The bad news is that most people believe that they can’t learn how to start conversations effectively. Fortunately for you, you’re not one of those people. Even if you are, I’m going to give you some foolproof ways to successfully start a conversation. Whether you are in a networking meeting, cafĂ©, or just walking down the street, people are everywhere and now it’s time to master how to meet them."

pumpkin blurb

A friend of mine asked me what to do with the old pumpkins...He said all he could find was the seed thing and cubed frozed pumpkin flesh. From an earlier blurbat post: Native Americans dried strips of pumpkin and wove them into mats - Comfy! The Indians pounded strips of pumpkin flat, dried them, and wove them into mats for trading. I suggested he try that an let me know how it worked.

"how to" blurb...home made airplane

This weekend a Kitfox homemade airplane crashed into the Columbia River, from the Columbian. An onlooker described it like this: "It was coming in real low, like it was going to land on the (island's) beach. He pulled back up and it stalled on him, and he went straight up and then ended up doing a nose dive." I thought a home make airplane would look like welded tubes and canvas. I met a guy about a year ago who was making one of these and he said it had to be officially inspected at multiple points along the way. Here's the website for the Kitfox...pretty ambitious.

Car blurb...On life support?

So my car broke down yesterday. All the oil ran out of the bottom of my 1994 Honda Accord. My friend says I should just shoot it since it has 215000 miles on it. Here is what the U.S Department of transportation says. The average life span of a vehicle is just over 13 years, with a final mileage of 145,000 miles. Half of all registered vehicles are at least 8 years old, a third of them 10 years old or older. The average new-car buyer trades in the car at 55,000 miles, approximately every four years. That leaves an average life expectancy of 9 years and 90,000 miles for a 4-year-old used car.
Hmm, it looks like my car is on borrowed time. I am taking it to the mechanic this morning.

"How to" blurb....park your car

manners and morals aside...here I come...
Some might say anyone who can park like that deserves the slot (that would be Social Darwinism); others would say, didn't your mother ever teach you when it' not your turn.

"how to" blurb

SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT"S UP with all the no-carve pumkins stuff I've been seeing. Is it that no one want to touch pumkin goo anymore or what?
