Religous blurb...Bonhoeffer, an emerging Christian.

I am currently reading "The Cost of Discipleship" by Dietrich Bonhoeffer. The guiding force in his life was his sole committment to be a Jesus follower. It lead him to clarity of thought, persistance in purpose and love for suffering humanity. It seems to me he was as "authentic" as one could be as a Christian. It is not clear to me that the "emerging church" offers anything new. Ever since Stephen was stoned we have been called to a life a total obedience to Jesus.
