culture blurb....dyed sheep

from the DailyTelegraph: "MADONNA has horrified animal activists after dyeing her sheep blue, pink, yellow and green for a Vogue spread at their English country estate, in Wiltshire. Madonna...insisted the dye used was temporary and did not harm the animals but an online report on music-news.com has said that the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals stated that even though the dye may be safe for the animals those who copy this stunt might not be so careful."

Are they on to something here? Peoples public behavior has a broader influence through out society? ..And that we as a society should be concerned about dumbing down standards of behavior. A major problem I see is that we've lost the concensus about what behavior should be held up as reprehensible. Dyeing a sheep is bad...what about having an affair? Having an affair is illegal in only some states, from the Washington Post: "An "extramarital affair" ...It's a misdemeanor...in Virginia, Maryland and more than 20 other states, and a felony in Idaho, Massachusetts, Michigan, Oklahoma and Wisconsin...though the law is rarely enforced..."
