This is an idea I really agree with. I don't use public transportation very much because the places I go require multiple bus/train transfers that take so much time that it isn't worth my while. If I could go to downtown and hop into one of these little gizmos, drive around and then turn it back in, I think I would use public transportation a lot more. Now the only question is how much extra it would cost? Here is the whole idea, invented at MIT.
