Blurbat recommends watching the original before the newer version. I remember watching this years back and it was lots of fun. If you watch the newer "war of" first, the modern special effects ruin the old one - will seem too dated...so watch this one first and have some fun. This movie is under our "Mars" theme because the invaders came from Mars.
