The Barna Group has a new book: "Unchristian: What a New Generation Really Thinks About Christianity". 440 nonchristians and 305 active churchgoers between 16-29 were polled. The vast majority in the nonchristian group and 47-80% in the church going group felt that Christianity had an antigay image, that it was judgemental and hypocritical. In summary that Christianity is defined more by what it is against then what it is for. Hmmm, it seems that the way to change this image might be to consciously work every day to be loving to people the way Jesus was. That being said, there is John 15:18-19, "If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you."
