culture blurb...crickets as pets.

from Newsvine: "The Chinese tradition of keeping crickets dates back at least as far as the 7th century Tang dynasty, when it was a favorite pastime of spoiled princelings. After the Communists came to power in 1949, crickets acquired a bad reputation as the playthings of a dissipated elite, and the tradition nearly died out. Now it is back in fashion." Some crickets cost up to $1000.
